[vc_row css_animation=”” row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”grid” angled_section=”no” text_align=”left” background_image_as_pattern=”without_pattern” z_index=”” css=”.vc_custom_1771850101131{margin-bottom: 20px !important;}”][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]ONDYTEC 2018 S.L<\/strong>., together with JUAN POVEDA S.L., has carried out a project funded by the Valencian Innovation Agency (AVI)<\/strong> under the initiative \u201cConsolidation of the Value Chain<\/strong>\u201d. The main objective<\/u><\/strong> of this project focused on the study and development of a new leather-like textile, primarily composed of agricultural waste and by-products not suitable for food consumption, as well as on the formulation of an eco-friendly resin based on natural pigments and recycled PVB (rPVB)<\/strong>, enabling the recovery and valorization of waste and resulting in the development of a sustainable textile<\/strong>.
The new leather-like textile is presented as a sustainable and non-toxic alternative<\/strong> to conventional leather materials. Its production incorporates the valorization of agricultural waste unsuitable for food consumption, such as coconut shells, almond shells, and palm residues, using a base fabric composed of recycled materials. Furthermore, the resulting textile has been reinforced with a recycled resin derived from automotive glass, which also acts as a protective element in combination with mineral pigments. In this way, the new leather-like textile represents an innovative and sustainable product<\/strong>, both in terms of its production process and its composition.
This project required the collaboration of the Universitat Polit\u00e8cnica de Val\u00e8ncia<\/strong> (UPV), which provided technical support<\/strong> in various project tasks, offering its expertise and facilities for validation at different stages. In addition, INESCOP<\/strong> was involved, carrying out technical testing<\/strong> of the newly developed leather-like textile.<\/p>\n

To achieve successful development, close collaboration between the two participating companies was essential<\/strong>. Both companies contributed from the initial research into the usability of residual and surplus materials to the development of a new eco-friendly resin based on natural pigments and rPVB (ONDYTEC, 2018), adapted to the final product.
